Dub a grub after your ex or name a fish in your crush’s honor—or both! Here’s your chance to name a snack after someone you know, which we’ll then feed to one of our sea otters, seals, or sea lions! Donate for a name or two, then on Valentine’s day watch your chosen animal chomp down on all the named snacks!
Support via sponsor a snack directly goes towards caring for our animals.
Donors receive a confirmation email after submitting their form that summarizes their donation.
In the interest of privacy, only first names will be announced. The Aquarium reserves the right to omit or edit submissions that go against our community guidelines, including those that are derogatory, offensive, or include information that may violate the privacy of an individual.
Sponsor a Snack is a Valentine’s Day promotion, allowing sponsors to name snacks after other individuals. Please note that business names/advertisements, phone numbers/addresses, or other non-name entries cannot be featured in our Sponsor a Snack promo video.
That depends on you!
Our harbor seals or sea lions are $20 per name. Each additional increment allows you to submit an additional name; those who donated $20 may submit one name, those who donated $40 may submit two names, and so on.
Our sea otters are $25 per name. Each additional increment allows you to submit an additional name; those who donated $25 may submit one name, those who donated $50 may submit two names, and so on.
Video compilations of the named snacks were be emailed to donors, posted to our youtube, and shared on social media on February 14th.

You can learn more about our animals by clicking on any of the above links. Specific named marine mammals, such as Oswald, Earle, or Catalina, could be requested but are not guaranteed.
Our marine mammals will be fed a variety of seafood snacks–usually fish, crab, squid. Our otters specifically will be enjoying icy Valentine’s day themed enrichment treats.
The last day to submit to Sponsor A Snack is February 1st, 2026. Videos will be emailed to donors and posted on social media on February 14th.
