Exhibits at the Oregon Coast Aquarium are known internationally for the quality of their construction, maintenance and interpretation. Exhibits range from those you can touch and hear to those you can see and explore. By modeling its habitats to mirror the natural environments found along Oregon’s shores, the Oregon Coast Aquarium strives to provide its animals with quality lives, and its visitors with quality experiences. Indoor galleries allow you to peer into the wonders of the underwater world, complete with sea stars, jellies, and many other fish and invertebrates. Witness the underwater ballets of seals, sea lions, and sea otters. Encounter denizens of the deep in Passages of the Deep, which features an underwater tunnel that snakes through three ocean habitats, complete with near 360-degree views of wolf eels, rockfishes, sturgeon, skates, bat rays and a variety of sharks. Find yourself surrounded by seabirds in our outdoor aviary, the largest of its kind in North America, featuring deep pools and rocky cliff sides that mimic Oregon’s coastline.
In 2023 the Aquarium entered the third phase of the campaign, which focused on expanding its capacity for rehabilitation efforts through the construction of a new state-of-the art Marine Rehabilitation Center. The center will not be publicly accessible, ensuring a sanitary and peaceful environment to promote animal health and recovery. With this updated facility, the Aquarium will be able to increase its capacity for care, ensuring the health of resident animals and providing injured wildlife with a second chance at survival.
