The Oregon Coast Aquarium’s latest attraction, Undersea Explorer VR, brings you closer to marine life than ever before through dynamic 360º live-action films synced with motion-platform seating for an immersive viewing experience like none other. Get up close with creatures in far-flung reaches of the ocean, learning from experts studying them along the way.

Flight of the Mantas

The majestic manta rays of Mozambique need our help to survive. Follow marine conservationists as they work to protect these ocean giants.

Shark Dive

Travel in search of Tiger Beach, a mythic underwater strip where some of the world’s largest sharks are said to live.

Swimming with Humpbacks

Explore the deep waters of Tonga and witness humpback whale behavior up close!

Undersea Explorer is available daily, from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Each virtual reality experience runs around 6 minutes. Spaces are limited.

This virtual reality ride has intense back and forth and side to side motion of the seats. All riders must comply with the following conditions. Anyone who does not comply with the following conditions will not be permitted to ride.

Minimum height requirement 35 in / 0.9m
Children aged 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult
Maximum weight of rider 472 lb/214 kg
1 person per seat, no infants in arms. Guests must remain seated at all times.
No umbrellas, cameras, jewelry, or loose items. Long hair must be tied back.
No eating, drinking, or smoking
Appropriate clothing must be worn
Headset must fit securely without use of hands
Upper and lower body control is required. Guests must be able to sit upright without assistance.
Guests must be able to transfer to the ride unaided or with the help of a carer.
Please ask an attendant for wheelchair accommodation.
Should you feel dizzy, disorientated or ill during any part of the ride, remove the VR headset and wait until the ride has finished before dismounting.
Do not lean in or out of the equipment during a session.
Do not leave the immediate experience area while wearing a head mounted device.
Do not ride this attraction if you are pregnant or may be pregnant nor have suffered or currently suffer from back and neck problems, heart conditions, high blood pressure, broken limbs, epilepsy or seizures.
