Oregon Coast Aquarium Hosts Creatures of the Night to Benefit Local Charities
November 06, 2013
Visitors will wander past fire dancers as they enter a maze of terror, complete with a creepy hospital and “Trick or Treat on Elm Street.”
These dark passages rife with horrors are haunted by Aquarium staff and volunteers from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Oregon Department of Fish and Game, Hatfield Marine Science Center and Oregon Sea Grant.
Creatures of the Night is made possible, in part, thanks to the event’s presenting sponsor, Bigfoot Beverages.
Those daring enough to brave Creatures of the Night can gain entry with $2 and two cans of non-perishable food for Food Share of Lincoln County or pet food for the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. Admission is $5 without donated food items. Entry for Aquarium members is free, but they are still encouraged to donate items.
Due to the frightening nature of this event, children under the age of eight, or older children with sensitive natures, should not attend this event. Strollers and flash photography are prohibited.
The Aquarium will close at 4 p.m. on October 26 in preparation for the event and will resume its normal winter hours, opening at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 5:00 p.m., the next day.
