Aquarium To Host Nye Beach Murder Mystery

September 23, 2010

The Oregon Coast Aquarium will host the Nye Beach Murder Mystery October 8 - 9 with an interactive “whodunit” benefitting the Aquarium and Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). The event is based upon the murder mystery, “Body in the Bloody Water Well” by Ram Papish, an 1898 themed mystery. Participants are encouraged to wear 1890’s costumes throughout the event. The cast will vote for best costume at the “Big Reveal” Saturday night.

The event begins Friday, October 8 at 7 pm at the Oregon Coast Aquarium with a Sleuth Social, where guests will meet the suspects of the murder while enjoying light appetizers and no host beverages. Participants of the murder mystery will have the opportunity to interrogate the suspects at the Sleuth Social. Admission is $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for youths 5-15. Children under 5 are free.

The event continues Saturday morning when guests pick up clue packets at Nye Cottage in Nye Beach at 9 am. Guests will search for the murderer by visiting designated merchants in the Nye Beach area from 10 am – 3 pm and meet costumed suspects to gather clues.

Saturday evening at 7 pm the “Big Reveal” will announce the culprit and prizes will be awarded for best costume at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. There will also be a raffle and photo opportunities for participants.

Murder mystery packets are $10.00 and available at Nye Cottage in Nye Beach. The packet includes two sleuth cards good for admission into the Aquarium for the Big Reveal Saturday night and discounts from local area merchants. For more information call 541-265-6262.
