Macy’s “One Good Turn” campaign will benefit the Aquarium
Oregon Coast Aquarium supporters can help the Aquarium by shopping at any Macy’s in Oregon on Saturday, April 25. The Aquarium will be a beneficiary of Macy’s “One Good Turn” charity shopping event which will raise much-needed funds to help support Aquarium programs, animal care and education.
Aquarium supporters can participate by purchasing a $5 Shop-for-a-Cause voucher at the Aquarium now through April 25. When the voucher is presented at Macy’s on April 25, shoppers get two offers: $5 off a one-time $15 purchase and an all-day shopping pass worth 10%-20% off most purchases storewide. (Some exclusions apply, see pass for details.)
All the proceeds raised from the $5 Shop-for-a-Cause voucher bought at the Oregon Coast Aquarium will benefit the Aquarium’s work in conservation, education and animal care that seeks to inspire understanding of the marine environment and our planet.
In 2008, Macy’s “One Good Turn” campaign raised nearly $2.7 million for the National Park Foundation (NPF). This year’s campaign is designed to inspire a renewed interest in protecting and preserving zoos and aquariums and to heighten environmental awareness among Macy’s customers.
"We were delighted to learn that our inaugural ‘Turn Over a New Leaf’ campaign in 2008 broke the record for a single fundraising event for the largest caretaker of our national parks – the National Park Foundation " said Peter Sachse, Macy's chief marketing officer. "This year, as part of our ongoing ‘My Macy's’ initiative, we are extending that support to include those important local fixtures – parks, zoos, aquariums and environmental institutions – that are so meaningful in communities across the country."
Participants may support the Oregon Coast Aquarium by purchasing a $5 Shop-for-a-Cause voucher at the Aquarium or at any Macy’s store in Oregon and shopping at Macy’s on April 25th.
