Stuff A Bus To Collect School Supplies

The drive for school supplies will help students prepare for the new school year

The Oregon Coast Aquarium and KYTE-FM will again team up for the annual “Stuff-a-Bus” to collect school supplies for Newport and Waldport schools August 23 from 10 am – 3 pm. The drive will collect school supplies to help local students get ready for the coming school year. KYTE-FM will conduct a live remote, broadcasting from the Aquarium parking lot urging listeners to stop by the Aquarium with school supplies and cash donations for Newport and Waldport schools. There will be a big yellow school bus parked in front of the Aquarium’s main entrance where donations will be collected.

“There are families in Lincoln County who can’t afford the basic tools for their children’s education, so this is a way we can ensure that those kids will have those tools,” said Cindy Hanson, Public Relations Manager for the Oregon Coast Aquarium. “Each time we host the event we see the community turn out and donate generous bags of school supplies. We always have a lot of fun with people who stop by during the KYTE-FM live broadcast.”

Participants may pick up donation bags at the KYTE-FM Broadcast House at 906 SW Alder, fill the bags with needed items and bring them to the school bus parked in front of the Aquarium. Items and cash donations collected will help provide children with the supplies they need to finish the school year.
