Spring Home School Day

Home school families receive school admission rate on this day.

Spend the day with your students discovering the hard-knock life living in the ocean! Educational stations, animal encounters and programs will help your kids analyze the difficulties animals have in surviving in this rough, ever-changing ecosystem.

  • Pre-K – 8th grade: $7.95 
  • 9th – 12th grade: $10.20 
  • Parent: $15.95

Schedule:

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Educational Stations, Feeding Narrations (Sea Otters & Sea Lions), Creature Crawl throughout Aquarium 

All ages. Free with admission. No preregistration. 


10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon: Sea Squirts: Furry Friends

What does a marine mammal feel like? Explore some of the furriest ocean creatures out there! 

2-3 year olds with a parent. $15 members/$20 nonmembers. Must register by Wednesday, March 7 for this portion only of the Home School Day. Call our group coordinator at 541-867-3474, Ext. 5301, or by email at education@aquarium.org


11:00 to 11:30 a.m.: Book and a Beast: A House for Hermit Crab 

Can you carry your home on your back? Read with us a story about an animal who does and meet him in person! 

K-2nd grade. Free with admission. No preregistration. 


1:00 to 1:45 p.m.: Sense-ational Sharks 

Travel beyond the myth of the man-eater with us to discover how sharks are supremely adapted for the life of an ocean predator.

All ages. Free with admission. No preregistration  


3:00 to 4:00 p.m.: It’s a Rough Life Lab 

The rocky shore is a tough neighborhood. Students will learn about the remarkable ways tidepool residents are adapted to weather the extremes of life on the rocks.

K-6th grade. Max 40 students. Free with admission.
