Downloadable Curriculum

The Oregon Coast Aquarium offers a number of activities and information guides available online.  Explore background information on various interests, read the fact guides and apply your artistry skills to the color sheets, or experience one of the many activities listed below.  All activites have been alligned to help students meet and exceed the common curriculum goals set by the Oregon Department of Education.

 

Home Activity Packet

The Home Activity Packet contains fun activities, background information, coloring sheets and curriculum designed for all ages.  These packets are availible at the Aquarium during the event or for download below. 

 

Backgrounds

These are short, information packed summaries of the relevant topic areas for this year's Home School Day's programs. They are written for teachers but their straightforward style would make them suitable for 6th grade (equivalent) and up. All backgrounds are pdf (Adobe Acrobat).

 

Fact and Coloring Sheets

On one side, you'll find amazing facts about the biology of these marine marvels. On the other, you'll find a picture for your students to color. Ideal for young learners through grade 3 (equivalent). Choose "Word file" if you have any version of Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works; choose "Rich text" if you have any other word processing program. To download activities, first right click on the link then choose "Save Target As..." and save it to your computer. You should then be able to open it in your word processing program.

 

Activities

Download any of these activities for use before or after your visit to the Aquarium. You'll find a range of activities for all grade level equivalents. All activities are pdf (Adobe Acrobat/Reader).
